INTERIOR/ EXTERIOR- LOOK BOOK   (A*)

this is my personal study

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

to start my research into my theme, I chose to attend the national portrait gallery

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

I next visited the Victoria and Albert museum, as it has a variety of sculptures,  portraiture, and history to explore

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

I then went to Tate modern as this gallery is full of expression and unusual art

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

while at Tate modern, Giacometti caught my eye, I researched further, using him as my first artist in my essay (personal study)

interior/exterior

after exploring a range of ideas, I chose my theme 'interior/exterior'

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

this is my first experimental page, I used a variety of techniques e.g. acrylic paint, pen, water colour, pencil and charchol

interior/ exterior

I chose John stezaker for my next artist research, these images are my own family members

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

I then explored different portraiture methods and looked at the work of Helene delmaire, I also used her as my third artist to research

interior/ exterior

I looked further into delmaires work and done some experimentation of my own, using primary images

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

experimentation

interior/ exterior

I chose to show off my skills by doing a pen study and an acrylic piece in the style of Helene delmaire

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

here I have combined stezeker's and delmaire's work

interior/ exterior

further experimentation

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

I used different printing methods on my images

interior/ exterior

to create these images I played around with the printing and layering, I liked the square layouts like delmaire and the old and layering techniques of stezekar

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

here I experimented with different techniques, to bring out one of the images

interior/ exterior

here I have used tracing paper to paint over, and tried a number of layouts to see what looks best- this was the start of my mixed media

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

I was unsure on how to present my final piece, I had a look at a variety of different ways

interior/ exterior

I done some further research into the use of mixed media and liked the use of stitching

INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

I begun painting on different surfaces and incorporating the stitching

interior/ exterior

here is a pencil study of one of my family members during the war, and one of the main pictures I am using in my final piece

interior/ exterior

this is another portrait of a family member,

this was actually the last picture of her before her eye was shot out during the war period

interior/ exterior

these are some more pencil drawings that I have completed as practise
